Prepare the Big Mac Sauce:
In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons finely chopped pickles, 1 tablespoon yellow mustard, 1 tablespoon white vinegar, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon onion powder.
Mix until well combined.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Refrigerate the sauce for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Prepare the Burger Patties:
Divide the ground beef into 6 equal portions and shape them into thin patties.
Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper.
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Cook the patties for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through.
Toast the Buns:
While the patties are cooking, slice the hamburger buns into three parts: top bun, middle bun (use the bottom of an extra bun), and bottom bun.
Toast the buns lightly in a separate skillet or toaster.
Assemble the Big Mac:
Spread a generous amount of Big Mac sauce on the bottom bun.
Add a handful of shredded iceberg lettuce and a few finely diced onions.
Place one slice of American cheese and a cooked burger patty on top.
Place the middle bun on top of the first layer.
Repeat the process: spread Big Mac sauce, add lettuce, onions, and pickles, then place the second burger patty.
Top with the remaining bun half.
